Dayling Swords, a consultant with SOAR Management Consulting, has been practicing Krav Maga since 2019 with a brief interruption for medical and COVID reasons. She obtained her level two certification after a grueling 5-hour test on March 3, 2022. “I have participated in many sports throughout my life, and I hadn’t found a sport that offered the type of learning environment, motivation, and technique that I could use in real life until a friend recommended Krav Maga classes. I have found the experience both fun and rewarding and am able to apply what I learn in the classes, using the Krav Maga mindset, in my everyday life.”
Krav Maga (contact combat) is one of the most effective self-defense systems. Its focus is on preparing the trainee to neutralize the attacker as quickly as possible, psychologically and physically, by incessantly and simultaneously attacking the individual. It was derived from the street fighting experience of Hungarian-Israeli martial artist Imi Lichtenfeld, who made use of his training as a boxer and wrestler while defending the Jewish quarter against fascist groups in Bratislava during the mid-to-late 1930s. Years later, this form of “contact combat” is being used by the Israeli Security Forces and is widely practiced around the world.
Congratulations on this amazing accomplishment Dayling!
